Substance abuse...it covers a wide range of substances. These include illegal drugs, prescription drugs, over-the-counter medication, legal but controlled substances, illicitly used substances, and performance enhancers.
Did you realize that our biggest substance abuse issues right now occur with substances that your children are finding in your own home...unlocked and unsecured?
It's not because parents don't care. Most of the times it's simply because we're unaware.
I invite you to watch this blog. Monitor the posts and read the comments from the students...your children. Then, encourage your children to get involved. It's through talking that we all become aware of the issues we're facing.
